About Sven Anderson
Sven Anderson is a jazz pianist and guitarist first and foremost of par excellence. He has been director, arranger and pianist for the legendary Jimmy Scott. Sven served as music director for the Gem Theater Run of “The Rat Pack Is Back”. He has toured with Earl Klugh. He has had the piano chair for numerous broadway productions. He as performed with Martin Short, Robert Goulet, Clay Aiken, Regis Philbin, Larry Nozero, Franz Jackson, Marcus Belgrave, J.C. Heard Big Band, Cindy Blackman, Paul Abler, Paul Keller Orchestra, Funk Brothers: Joe Messina, Pistol Allen, Johnny Trudell as well as playing with every major jazz vocalist in the Detroit area. He has headlined several jazz festivals with The Sven Anderson Trio and Janet Tenaj throughout the Midwest and Canada.

Sven Anderson is co-creator with his wife Janet Tenaj Anderson of the “Into The Jazz Woods” an “eco-jazz” program (copyright 2000) for young children ages 4 through 9 years of age. Their show “Tenajeree” has been performed in schools throughout Michigan.

Sven graduated high school from Interlochen Arts Academy, B.M. in Composition from Oakland University (Michigan) and M.M. in Composition from Cleveland Institute of Music.

He was a choral accompanist for the Detroit Board of Education at the high school level from 1988-2000. He has also been a roster member of Young Audiences of Michigan.


About Janet Tenaj
Janet Tenaj is a jazz vocalist, pianist, lyricist, composer and arranger which she does with a passion. She has served as an arranger for jazz vocal groups and singers in the Detroit area. She has performed with the legendary Jimmy Scott, Marcus Belgrave, George Benson, Paul Keller, Bill Dowdy (The Three Sounds), The Funk Brothers Joe Messina and Pistol Allen, the late Larry Nozero and Eddie Russ. She has headlined several jazz festivals throughout the Midwest and Canada with Sven Anderson.

Janet is a co-creator with her husband Sven Anderson, M.M. “Into The Jazz Woods”, an“eco-jazz” program (copyright 2000) for young children ages 4 through 9 years of age. This program has been presented as a workshop and a class at several Detroit metropolitan area schools, Ann Arbor (School of Performing Arts) and University of Toledo for Jon Hendricks Head Professor of Vocal Jazz Studies (Lambert, Hendricks and Ross) Jazz History class.

Janet has performed an interactive concert “Tenajeree” as a roster member of Young Audiences for schools in the Detroit area. She has held workshops for University Of Michigan Musical Society; Harold McKinney Jazz Workshop and Children’s Center of Detroit.

Ms.Tenaj’s concept of education is that of a “well-rounded and ultimately balanced education which includes the arts…Art Is Education.”
